Terms of Service
Welcome to OC Grass Fed! By placing an order, you agree to the following terms:
1. Pricing and Upfront Payment
Standard orders must be paid in full when placed. Your upfront payment is based on the estimated packaged weight and the per-pound rate stated at the time of purchase, together with any disclosed applicable charges.
Because cattle naturally vary in size and processing yield, estimated weights are not guaranteed. Final beef pricing is calculated using the actual packaged weight allocated to your order and your agreed per-pound rate.
If your order weighs less than estimated, a weight-based adjustment will be calculated, subject to the shipping, delivery, and final-mile provisions below. Any purchase of additional weight above your original estimate requires your approval before an additional amount is charged.
Crowdfund & Contribute payments follow the payment timing described in Section 6.
2. Weight Adjustments, Refunds, and Delivery Costs
If the actual packaged weight allocated to your order is below the estimated weight used to calculate your payment, the initial refund amount will equal the difference in pounds multiplied by your agreed per-pound rate.
By placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service, including OC Grass Fed’s right, at its discretion, to deduct a combined shipping, delivery, and final-mile fee from that initial refund. The amount deducted may be any amount up to, but not exceeding, $1,000 per order.
This fee covers reasonable, documented transportation and delivery costs actually incurred to get your product to you, including refrigerated transportation and the final delivery leg to your designated address. The amount charged will not exceed the costs reasonably attributable to your order. When transportation serves multiple customer orders, those costs will be reasonably allocated among the orders.
We will not charge twice for the same costs or impose this fee for services previously promised as included at no additional charge.
The deduction will be limited to the lowest of:
$1,000 per order;
Eligible transportation and delivery costs attributable to your order, after accounting for amounts already paid toward those costs; or
Your initial weight-based refund amount.
This deduction may reduce or eliminate your weight-based refund. It will not create an additional balance owed under this provision.
We will provide an itemized reconciliation showing the estimated weight, actual packaged weight, agreed per-pound rate, initial refund calculation, delivery-fee deduction, and remaining refund. Any remaining refund will be returned promptly using the original payment method when available, or another method agreed with you.
This provision applies to weight adjustments for products delivered to you. It does not authorize a deduction from a refund for an order we do not fulfill, and it does not limit refunds or other remedies required by applicable law.
3. Customer Responsibility
Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact information, a correct delivery address, and any access instructions needed to complete delivery.
Customers must coordinate receipt of their order and promptly place delivered products into appropriate refrigerated or frozen storage. Please contact us promptly if your order arrives damaged, incomplete, or in questionable condition, and retain photographs and packaging when reasonably possible to help us evaluate the issue.
4. Shipping and Delivery
We package and handle our products with care. Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, OC Grass Fed is not responsible for delays, damage, or spoilage caused solely by third-party carriers and outside our reasonable control. This limitation does not excuse our own failure to properly prepare or package an order or eliminate any responsibility or customer remedy required by law.
Please notify us promptly of delivery problems so we can investigate and help resolve them.
5. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, transportation disruptions, or supply chain interruptions.
We will communicate material delays and work toward a reasonable resolution. This section does not eliminate any cancellation or refund rights required by applicable law.
6. Crowdfund & Contribute Feature
OC Grass Fed offers a Crowdfund & Contribute feature that allows customers to pledge a one-time contribution toward a meat campaign.
One-Time Payment Authorization: By contributing, you authorize secure storage of your payment method and a one-time charge for your pledged amount if the campaign reaches its funding goal.
No Immediate Charge: Your contribution is not charged when submitted. It is charged automatically once the campaign reaches its funding goal, before fulfillment.
Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your contribution before the campaign is fully funded. Once the funding goal is reached, your contribution is committed and cannot be canceled or modified, except as required by applicable law.
Payment Confirmation: You will receive an email when your payment is successfully processed. If payment fails, you will also be notified.
No Reminder Before Charging: We do not send a separate reminder before charging your payment method when the campaign reaches its funding goal. You are responsible for managing or canceling your contribution before that point.
Any weight-adjustment or delivery-fee terms applicable to a campaign must be disclosed before you submit your contribution.
7. Application of These Terms
The terms disclosed and accepted when you place your order or submit your campaign contribution govern that transaction. Later changes to these terms do not automatically apply to previously placed orders or contributions.
